2024 Next Gen: Brittany Dykla

2024 Next Gen: Brittany Dykla

Brittany Dykla is one of the 2024 Next Gens, as nominated by Groups Today readers for making a difference in the industry with his fresh, progressive perspective.

Brittany Dykla: Chief Financial Officer, Brilliant Edventures

With a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degree in accounting from Michigan State University, Brittany Dykla is a second-generation owner of Brilliant Edventures.

"My mom, Elaine Moulder, started in the group travel industry in the late 90s so I've had a foundation of travel in my life," Dykla said. "I was actually at a SYTA conference in Orlando in 2004."

At the beginning of 2016, Moulder invited Dykla to go along with her on a FAM to the Dakotas.

"By the end of the trip, we had started talking about me coming to work for her, as she had already started Brilliant Edventures," Dykla said. "Later that year, I officially started working for Brilliant Edventures!"

Like most travel professionals, Dykla loves to travel and has spent the night in 47 of the 50 states so far, with a goal of finishing all 50 before she turns 40.

"Occasionally, I get to be the Tour Director for a group, and meeting the travelers is the most rewarding part of the job," she said. "They have such fascinating life stories and I think it's amazing to give them another new experience."

Dykla is actively involved with the Owners Network under the National Tour Association, and after serving on various committees and acting as an NTA ambassador, was recently named NTA's 2023 Young Professional of the Year. Dykla also serves on multiple committees for Circle Michigan.

"Travel Exchange was the first tradeshow I attended, and everyone was so welcoming," Dykla said. 'I've become actively involved in the Association, so I was very honored to receive the 2023 Young Professional of the Year award. I'm looking forward to serving on the Board of Directors in 2024."

In the future, Dykla looks to continue to grow Brilliant Edventures.

"We have a retail product, WINOS, that I would love to get off the ground," she explained. "I want to continue to be innovative in group travel so that each generation sees the benefits and continues to travel this way!"
